Day Five - Shoes that Speak

Eph 6:15 “… with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.”

If we consider each piece of the armour as a revelation of Jesus, then these shoes remind us that Jesus lived with a mission. Putting on the shoes of the Gospel of Peace speaks of going somewhere on purpose. Mark's account of Jesus commissioning the disciples to ‘go into all the world and preach the Gospel’ (Mk 16:15), echoes into our own lives. We are on mission, carrying the Good News that brings peace.

The Hebrew word we translate into ‘peace’ is, ‘shalom.’ It means, ‘nothing missing and nothing broken’. This is our mission from Jesus. We shake off the apathy and put on the shoes of the gospel of peace.

Father, I thank you for helping me stay on mission. Send me to bring good news to others. I speak ‘shalom’ peace, over my family and over my day, in Jesus name.
