Day Four - Jesus, our Righteousness

Ephesians 6:14 “and the body armour of God's righteousness.”

Putting on the breastplate (body armour) of righteousness is to believe that you have been made right with God through Jesus. The Bible says, God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. (Eph3:24)  This is almost too good to be true, and is why Paul calls us to renew our minds so we will believe it.  ‘Let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.’ (Eph 4:24) When it comes to putting on the breastplate of righteousness, you  will just have to believe it, because the righteous live by faith. Jeremiah was a prophet who prophesied the coming of Messiah. He wrote; ‘and this will be His name, The Lord is our Righteousness.’ (Jeremiah 23:6) The enemy will lie to you in your thoughts and try to steal this gift, so make sure that breastplate is secure by saying out loud, “there is therefore, now, no condemnation because I am in Christ.” (Romans 8:1-4)

Lord, I thank you that you have declared me righteous. Thank you that you chose me in Christ to be holy and without fault in your eyes. (Eph 1:4) As your child and heir, I know you answer my prayers.
